The Department for Transport has confirmed the date at which it wants to raise the truck speed limit on single carriageway roads to 50 mph and on dual carriageways to 60 mph. The date for the increase has now been set at April 6 2015. The increase is being debated in the Commons later today but that is highly unlikely to affect the decision.
